Laura Neilson is HSJ Rising Star

Dr Laura Neilson, project lead at Shared Health Foundation and CEO of Hope Citadel Healthcare CIC, won the HSJ Rising Star Award 2016 at last night's ceremony in London.

Laura was recognised for her "inspirational style" and acheivements in setting up Hope Citadel  in 2008 whilst still a medical student, now running 6 GP surgeries and employing over 80 staff.

Hill Top Surgery, Fitton Hill, Oldham was just last week confirmed to be the third practice run by the company to receive an "outstanding" rating after inspection by the Care Quality Commission. Prof Steve Field, Chief Inspector of General Practice described the surgery as one of the best in the country saying:

"Hill Top Surgery is one of the most inspirational GP surgeries that I have visited. This is a real achievement and a fantastic resource for the people of Oldham to have on their doorstep."

Hope Citadel is working with Shared Health Foundation and GMHSCP to replicate the Focused Care Model across Greater Manchester so that more surgeries and patients can benefit from this excellent model of care.
