Oldham Poverty Truth Commission
Shared Health Foundation has partnered with Action Together to facilitate the delivery of Oldham Poverty Truth Commission.
Oldham Poverty Truth Commission is bringing together community commissioners (experts by experience of poverty) and civic commissioners (experts by experience within professional fields such as health or business) to share stories and develop relationships that break down boundaries with the intention of making real system change.
The aims of the project are to :
- Build relationships and trust between local people and civic leaders that increase understanding of poverty
- Prompt changes in policy and practice within organisations
- Provide a positive example of co-production that Oldham can reference
- Develop new skills for all participants which can be applied to other programmes
We are in the early stages of this work so come back for more updates and reports in 2022.
